J-n-K Web & Graphic Designs was established in September 2003.  It is solely owned and operated by my wife, Kathy, and myself.  We started the business and are dedicated to providing customers products and services tailored to meet their personal and/or business needs.  Over the years, directly and indirectly through family and friends, we have found that many companies do not take the time to learn what their customers need or want; they try to tailor the customer’s requirements and processes to fit their product/service.  Here at J-n-K Web & Graphic Designs, we pride ourselves on taking as much time as needed prior to starting a project to get to know the customer, their vision/objective, and, in the case of business/e-commerce web sites, their business practices and processes.  Only then will we start the design process – keeping our focus on the customers needs the entire time.  Our policy is if the customer is not 100% satisfied with our product or service, we’ve failed and no one should have to pay for failure.

I spent 29 years in the US Air Force defending the security of our great nation.  Why is this important and what does it have to do with web & graphic design?  My specific job for over 20 years dealt directly with information and computer security.   My duties required me to become very familiar with the inner workings of networks, the internet, and web sites, as well as with programming.  Not only did I learn how they work, I learned how to keep them secure.  My background makes me very aware of what should and should not be on a web site, and what security most be in place before certain types of information should be permitted – this gives our customers a big advantage over those of many other companies.

My personal interests and professional needs also led to my obtaining an Associate of Science in Data Processing Technology and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degrees from the Hawaii Pacific University.  In addition to my education, I have gained a great deal of experience over the years creating and designing web sites and graphics for friends and family.  In addition to the various samples found throughout our web site, since 1986 I have been creating/designing business cards, membership cards, pamphlets, flyers, newsletters, logos, invitations and web sites to meet the personal and business needs of my family, friends and business acquaintances.

Kathy’s role in J-n-K Web & Graphic Designs, besides being my biggest supporter and encouraging me to start the business, is primarily administrative.  She currently takes care of the books, organizes projects, tracks customers, performs quality control and keeps the business running.  However, she is learning many of the maintenance tasks and has a lot of input to the artistic/esthetic aspects of all our designs and creations

She has been working around computers for almost as long as I have and she has a great deal of experience with non-computer related graphic design.  For more then 20 years she has been designing and creating works of art, in the form of needle point, embroidery, and other mediums, that are now hanging in offices and homes around the world.
